About

"By this everyone will know" This is part of a verse taken from John 13:35. The full verse reads "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

I find the broader picture of this chapter very interesting. Here Jesus humbles himself as a servant and washes his disciples feet, including the feet of the one who is about to betray him. He tells us to follow His example of humbly loving each other, even the ones that are unlovely, even the ones who may hurt us.

There is a lack of true love in our society. I don't think that love means to be accepting of any and every behavior, but neither does it mean to mock and judge those we disagree with.

Jesus didn't say, "they will know you by your judgement and pride," or "they will know you by your megachurches," or "they will know you by the charities you start."

This blog is my personal journey in search of God's kingdom, his righteousness and what it truly means to "love your neighbor as yourself." This is my private prayer journal made public. I pray that this will be a place of insight for the both of us.

I'm not perfect, and I'm definitely not always right, even though I like to think so sometimes. I am however, trying to learn, and I invite you to take this journey with me.
